At Tabitha Home, we believe that collaboration is key to creating lasting change in child welfare. That’s why we actively participate in initiatives that strengthen policies and practices for vulnerable children. This August, our team joined the Association of Home Operators of Nigeria (ASOHON) seminar, focused on foster care reform in Oyo State.
Held on August 6th, 2025, at Jogor Center, Ibadan, the one-day seminar was themed: “Strengthening Alternative Care through Foster Care Reform.” Organized by ASOHON in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, the event gathered child-care experts, government officials, and home operators for meaningful dialogue.
The seminar provided:
-
📖 Deeper insight into foster care models and how they can serve as effective alternatives to institutional care.
-
🛡️ Guidance on child safeguarding practices to ensure homes remain compliant with evolving policies.
-
🤝 Networking opportunities with other stakeholders committed to the wellbeing of vulnerable children.
Our Home Administrator proudly represented Tabitha Home, gaining new knowledge and strategies that will strengthen our own practices and further improve the care we provide to children.
At Tabitha Home, we are committed not only to caring for children but also to advancing policies that protect them. With your support, we can continue to be at the forefront of positive change for vulnerable children in Nigeria.
