22 Dreams in Motion: Inside the Journey of Our University Scholars
At Tabitha Home, we measure success not just by the children we shelter, but by the futures we help build.
Today, 22 of our children are in universities and tertiary institutions, young people who once faced abandonment and uncertainty, now daring to dream of becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers, and community leaders.
Among them are eight recent transitions, including students now studying at the University of Ibadan and Ajayi Crowther University.
This is not just a milestone. It is a responsibility.
22 Dreams, But Not Yet Secure
Behind every admission letter is a story of resilience of children who refused to give up, and a community that refused to let them fall.
But getting into university is only the beginning.
Right now, these 22 dreams are in motion. But they are also at risk.
Because education does not sustain itself.
What It Really Takes
For each student to remain in school, there are real and ongoing costs that must be met every single semester:
- Tuition Fees: Tuition fees that must be paid on time or a student loses their place
- Accommodation: Safe accommodation that provides stability and space to study
- Learning Resources: Textbooks, laptops and academic materials to stay competitive
- Daily Welfare: Daily living expenses so that hunger never gets in the way of potential
Without these, the journey can be interrupted. And for many of these children, there is no fallback, no family to call, no savings to draw from. There is only what we can provide together.
From Vulnerability to Possibility
These are not just students.
They are children who once faced abandonment, instability, and deep uncertainty, children who had every reason to give up. Yet here they are: enrolled, attending lectures, writing exams, and stepping into futures they once couldn’t have imagined.
At Tabitha Home, we gave them a foundation. But now they need more than hope, they need sustained support to see it through.
Because a dream without support can easily become a missed opportunity.
You Can Keep These Dreams Alive
This is where you come in.
To sustain these 22 university journeys, from first year to final year, we are calling on individuals, partners, and organizations to stand with us. Here is how you can make a direct difference:
- Sponsor a student’s tuition for a semester or a full academic year
- Support accommodation and welfare to keep students safe and stable
- Provide essential learning resources ; books, data, and materials
- Become a monthly donor and be part of a consistent support system
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps keep a child in school and a dream alive.
Be the Reason They Finish Strong
The journey from an admission letter to a graduation gown is long. For these students, it is not guaranteed. But together, we can change that.
We can ensure these 22 dreams do not stop halfway.
We can turn these admission letters into graduation stories.
We can raise the next generation of leaders that Nigeria needs.
