April was a month of movement; children returning, children celebrating, children stepping into new seasons. Through it all, Tabitha Home remained a steady place of care, warmth, and opportunity for vulnerable children.

A season of returning
Easter brought a special kind of joy to Tabitha Home this April. Several of our university level beneficiaries made their way home for the holiday break and for a few days, the Home was fuller, louder, and brighter than usual. Seeing the older children return, share meals, and reconnect with their younger siblings was a reminder of something important: Tabitha Home is not just a facility. It is a family.
After the celebrations, they returned safely to their various institutions across Nigeria. We continue to hold them in prayer and stand behind them with financial, emotional, and practical support as they pursue their degrees.
Our children studying at Osun State University (UNIOSUN), who had come home for their semester break in March, also resumed school safely this month. We are grateful for journey mercies upon each of them.
School resumption on the horizon
April also marked the end of the second-term break for our primary and secondary school children. As we publish this, preparations are underway for their return to school in the coming week. From school uniforms to books to provisions, getting 33 children ready for a new term is no small task and it is one we take seriously, because we believe every child deserves to walk into school feeling prepared and cared for.
Lesson teachers continued to provide supplementary support throughout the break, ensuring no child lost momentum in their learning during the holiday period.
Six birthdays worth celebrating
Six of our children marked their birthdays in April. Each one was sung for, prayed over, and celebrated with love by the entire Tabitha Home family. In a world where many of these children have experienced loss and uncertainty, being celebrated, being seen, matters deeply. These moments are small, but they are powerful.
Ongoing support across all areas
Beyond the highlights, the everyday work of caring continued without interruption. Children received three balanced meals daily, alongside snacks and fruits. Psychosocial support activities including key working sessions, game nights, and group discussions provided safe spaces for children to grow emotionally and socially. Twelve community households also received support through our household strengthening programme this month, as we extend our care beyond our walls to vulnerable families in Ibadan.
We need your help to keep going. As our children prepare to resume school, we are faced with the very real cost of care, provisions, school materials, feeding, medical support, and more. We currently support 49 children and 22 university students, and the need is constant. If you have been moved by what you have read, please consider taking action today. A donation of any amount or a gift of provisions goes directly into the lives of real children who need it most. Partner with us. Share our story. Help us keep hope alive. To give or partner with Tabitha Home, please reach out through our official channels. No act of kindness is too small. |
